چکیده

This paper shows a strategy to carry out a wind turbine LPV (Linear Parameter Varying) and MIMO (Multivariable Input and Multivariable Output) model from a family of LTI (Linear Time Invariant) models. The family of LTI models is obtained from a linearization process in different operational points of the wind turbine model in GH Bladed. The procedure is valid for any family of LTI models obtained from other simulation packages, as for instance, from FAST. The wind turbine model chosen is based on a 5 MW wind turbine defined in the Upwind European project. The LPV model is represented by the LFT (Linear Fractional Transformation) representation and its dynamics varies according to a selected parameter: blade pitch angle or wind speed. The MIMO LPV model has been developed in Matlab/Simulink. This model is validated analyzing some quality values in the frequency domain and in the time domain. These values determine the quality of the approximation of the LPV model to the family of LTI models.

Intelligent Control for the Variable-Speed Variable-Pitch Wind Energy System

In this paper, a new type of multi-variable compensation control method for the wind energy conversion systems (WECS) is presented. Based on wind energy conversion systems, combining artificial neural network (ANN) control and PID, a new type of PID NN intelligent controller for steady state torque of the wind generator is designed, by which the steady state torque output is regulated to track ...

Robust and fault-tolerant linear parameter-varying control of wind turbines

High performance and reliability are required for wind turbines to be competitive within the energy market. To capture their nonlinear behavior, wind turbines are often modeled using parameter-varying models. In this paper we design and compare multiple linear parameter-varying (LPV) controllers, designed using a proposed method that allows the inclusion of both faults and uncertainties in the ...

LPV Control for the Full Region Operation of a Wind Turbine Integrated with Synchronous Generator

Wind turbine conversion systems require feedback control to achieve reliable wind turbine operation and stable current supply. A robust linear parameter varying (LPV) controller is proposed to reduce the structural loads and improve the power extraction of a horizontal axis wind turbine operating in both the partial load and the full load regions. The LPV model is derived from the wind turbine ...

Data Driven Modelling of the Dynamic Wake between Two Wind Turbines

Wind turbines in a wind farm, influence each other through the wind flow. Downwind turbines are in the wake of upwind turbines and the wind speed experienced at downwind turbines is hence a function of the wind speeds at upwind turbines but also the momentum extracted from the wind by the upwind turbine. This paper establishes flow models relating the wind speeds at turbines in a farm. So far, ...

A New Method to Study Aggregation Effect of Harmonic Current Emissions in a Wind Farm Based on Type-III Wind Turbine Average Modeling

Assessment of complex harmonic current contribution of each wind turbines at connection point of a wind farm to the grid (primary emission) is presented in this paper. Moreover, contribution of grid background harmonic voltage distortion on harmonic current distortion (secondary emission) of each turbine is also evaluated. Both assessments are represented based on primary and secondary transfer...
